Tech Support for Energy Efficiency
To fulfill the increased demand of energy due to rapid growth of economy, energy efficiency is the key driving force to fulfill the energy demand as well as meet the Climatic goals. PSCST is working closely with highly energy intensive MSME sector since 3 decades and has helped them to improve their energy performance and reduced GHG emissions.
Further, considering the vast potential of energy savings through energy efficiency, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India enacted Energy Conservation Act 2001 & established Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) in 2002. BEE promoted energy efficiency & conservation through energy audits. PSCST has a team of 5 energy auditors certified from BEE &has vast experience in carrying out Electrical & Thermal energy audit of industries, institutions & commercial buildings. Some prestigious institutions like PGSC and Virasat-E-Khalsa implemented the Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs) given by PSCST after detailed energy audit and received appreciation at State & National level. A few success stories of energy audits being carried out by PSCST are as under:
Pushpa Gujral Science City (PGSC), Kapurthala
PSCST conducted the detailed energy audit of PGSC complex, Kapurthala and identified energy conservation potential of Rs 21.51 lacs per annum by investing Rs 10.75 Lacs having payback period of 6 months only. PGSC invested only Rs. 1.51 lakhs only on short term ECMs & achieved annual saving of Rs. 12.87 lakhs & received energy conservation award in “General Category” from Hon’ble President of India during the National Energy Conservation Awards-2013 held by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power in 2013.
Virasat-E-Khalsa, Sri Anandpur Sahib
